Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. The Airis Effects Nemesis Preamp is a boutique high-gain guitar preamp and distortion pedal by Canadian builder Airis Effects featuring Gain, Volume, and a three-band amp-style tonestack with Bass, Middle, and Treble controls. Designed to deliver a full preamp channel in pedal format it runs into the front end of a clean amplifier or directly into an effects loop or PA system. At high Gain settings it maintains clarity and note articulation without muddiness. Now discontinued and replaced by the simplified Nemesis Boost.
The Mad Professor Royal Blue Overdrive covers a wide range from light overdrive into full distortion, with Volume, Distortion, Treble, and Bass controls. At its lowest Distortion setting the pedal behaves almost like an EQ stage, adding minimal filtering for a transparent boost. Turning the Distortion knob up moves it into a crunchy, tube-amp-like breakup and eventually into heavier gain. Both Treble and Bass are boost/cut shelving controls, giving broad tonal shaping rather than a single fixed voicing. It is built to go from subtle amp-like grit to genuine distortion within one pedal, and forms the basis of Mad Professor's Supreme A-side circuit.
