This is a blonde-finished reissue of the Gibson ES-335, the semi-hollow guitar Gibson introduced in 1958 that combined the sustain and feedback resistance of a solid body with the airier tone of a hollow archtop. Blonde, a natural or lightly tinted finish that shows the wood grain, was one of the rarer original ES-335 finishes compared with the more common sunburst. Warren Haynes, who has used ES-335-style semi-hollow guitars for their versatility across blues, rock and jam contexts, is associated with this example.
