Alexander Pedals Radical Delay vs TC Electronic Triple Flashback Delay

The Alexander Pedals Radical Delay and the TC Electronic Triple Flashback Delay are both pedals sharing pristine, ambient. The Alexander Pedals Radical Delay leans modulated. The TC Electronic Triple Flashback Delay leans slapback.

Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Alexander Pedals Radical Delay is a six-mode digital delay blending 1980s clean digital tone with modern modulation and glitch processing. Modes include MOD (modulated delay with chorus or vibrato on repeats), BEND (pitch-spiraling echoes), DUAL (dual-tap delay lines), REV (reverse delay), ARP (chiptune arpeggiator delay), and DYNA (dynamics-reactive delay). Maximum delay time ranges from 680ms to over 5000ms controlled by the CLOCK knob, which also shifts bandwidth from 16kHz down to 1kHz for lo-fi textures. Four onboard presets expand to 16 via MIDI. Neo Morph enables real-time seamless transitions between stored parameter positions.

The TC Electronic Triple Flashback Delay runs up to three independent delay engines at once, each individually footswitchable, with a toggle to select which engine to edit and a shared tap tempo footswitch. A serial/parallel switch changes how the three interact: parallel sends the dry signal to all three delays at once for tight, rhythmically interlocking repeats, while series chains delay one into two into three for huge, cascading, three-dimensional echo trails. Sixteen selectable delay types span crisp digital, warm analog, tube, tape, lo-fi, reverse, and slapback voicings. One of the sixteen is a ping-pong delay. Four TonePrint slots let players download signature delay settings from touring artists. It suits players wanting deep, layered, three-dimensional delay textures.
