Channel 1 reproduces the original 1969 SVT tone that launched the series, similar to the SVT Classic, while Channel 2 is voiced from a hand-selected mid-1970s unit for greater attack, clarity, and high-end definition. Modern additions include an enhanced XLR DI output, user-biasing for simplified tube maintenance, a quiet cooling fan, and Neutrik speakOn connections. It represents the most historically comprehensive SVT reproduction Ampeg has released.
The Ampeg SVT-3PRO is a 450-watt hybrid bass amplifier head combining a tube preamp with a solid-state power amplifier in a 2U rack-mount chassis. The tube preamp section employs 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes to deliver the harmonic warmth characteristic of the SVT lineage, while the solid-state power stage provides output reliability and efficiency for touring use.
