Channel 1 reproduces the original 1969 SVT tone that launched the series, similar to the SVT Classic, while Channel 2 is voiced from a hand-selected mid-1970s unit for greater attack, clarity, and high-end definition. Modern additions include an enhanced XLR DI output, user-biasing for simplified tube maintenance, a quiet cooling fan, and Neutrik speakOn connections. It represents the most historically comprehensive SVT reproduction Ampeg has released.
The Ampeg V4-B is a 100-watt all-tube bass amplifier head using four 6L6 power tubes, originally introduced in 1971 as a lower-wattage alternative to the 300-watt SVT. It shares the SVT preamp circuit in a lighter package, delivering Ampeg's characteristic warm deep low-end, slightly scooped mids, and SVT harmonic richness at volumes more manageable than its larger sibling.
