Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. The Animals Pedal Double Spy Mission is Impossible Filter is an auto-wah and envelope filter from Japanese boutique maker Animals Pedal. Three controls cover Range (filter bandwidth), Filter (filter response sensitivity), and Mode (filter sweep direction, up or down). Optical design with 1mA current consumption, 470K input impedance, and 470 ohm output impedance. Compatible with guitar and bass. Powered by 9V battery or standard center-negative DC adapter. Dimensions 64W x 112D x 50H mm, 379g. A simple three-knob layout and dual sweep direction make it practical for beginners and experienced players alike.
The Spaceman Artemis is a hand-wired boutique modulated filter built around a two-pole state-variable design with simultaneous high-pass, band-pass and low-pass outputs. Unlike most filter pedals it does not force a choice between responses: a mixer section blends them, so combining high-pass and low-pass produces notch filtering, and modulating that notch with the LFO yields convincing phaser and vibrato voices. With up to 10dB of boost and infinite cut per band it offers more tone-shaping range than many dedicated EQs. A seven-mode modulation bus drives the filter from conventional sweeps to outright bizarre animation, and envelope control sweeps the filter in either direction for vocal, quacking, funky auto-wah movement or downward synth-like swells. Built in Portland, Oregon with true-bypass relay switching and soft-touch footswitches.
