The Ashdown JMY-DD is the John Myung signature Double Drive bass distortion pedal. A dual-channel design combines two independent distortion circuits: Drive 1 delivers subtle overdrive with Gain, Loud, and Tone controls for mild-to-moderate growl, while Drive 2 provides vintage fuzz ranging from warm growl to aggressive saturation. The two channels overlap to push into higher gain levels than either achieves alone. Dual VU meters monitor input and output in real time. Rugged Zintec steel construction with LED indicators per channel. Developed in collaboration with Dream Theater bassist John Myung.
The MXR M287 Sub Octave Bass Fuzz combines the Growl section from MXR's Bass Octave Deluxe with an earth-shaking fuzz circuit, blending three separate signals, dry, fuzz, and sub-octave, with a 3-band EQ for precise tone shaping. The fuzz section itself offers two switchable voices (warm and compressed, or bright and aggressive) plus a Mid Level control for boosting midrange presence, giving bass players deep control over how the octave and fuzz elements combine in the final mix.
