Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Beetronics OctaHive Custom Cobogo is a hand-painted edition of the OctaHive octave-up fuzz, named for the cobogo latticework motif of its enclosure artwork. The underlying circuit adds an octave above the played note over a layer of fuzz, in the lineage of the Octavia Roger Mayer built for Hendrix, and the octave becomes most pronounced on the neck pickup above the twelfth fret. Custom editions replace the standard octave toggle with a second footswitch for live switching. This entry has no product listing attached, so exact configuration should be confirmed with the seller.

The Suhr Rufus is a fuzz pedal built around a full-featured 3-band EQ for shaping the fuzz tone, combined with Suhr's proprietary mf(x) footswitch technology that lets players seamlessly switch between two user-defined modes, Normal and Octave, during a performance. Suhr states the current Rufus shares an identical circuit and tone with the discontinued original Rufus Reloaded, meaning today's standard Rufus carries forward that circuit rather than representing a new, different voicing.
