Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.46% — somewhat different

The Beetronics OctaHive is a fuzz with an added octave above the played note, continuing the lineage that began with the Octavia Roger Mayer built for Jimi Hendrix. This Dual FS version replaces the octave toggle switch found on the standard model with a second footswitch, so the octave can be brought in and out mid-performance rather than being set before playing — a change Beetronics made only for the custom editions. The octave effect blooms most strongly on the neck pickup high up the fretboard, thinning out lower down, which is characteristic of the circuit. It suits psychedelic, blues and experimental players who want octave fuzz they can switch live.
The Fender Blender is a vintage-circuit octave fuzz reissue from Fender, originally introduced in the early 1970s, combining a raw fuzz circuit with an upper-octave harmonic generator and a clean blend control that allows mixing the effected signal with the dry guitar tone. The blending of clean signal with fuzz and octave harmonic creates a complex, layered texture suited to heavy rock, shoegaze, and psychedelic applications where the combination of clean definition and fuzz saturation is the goal. My Bloody Valentine guitarist Kevin Shields is closely associated with the Fender Blender, using it for the dense, layered tone of the band.
