The Beetronics Swarm Fuzz Harmonizer is an analog fuzz harmonizer from the Royal Series, handmade in Los Angeles. The SPECIES selector chooses from nine pitch intervals for the harmony voice, ranging from octaves to musical thirds including major third intervals. Queen and Drone knobs mix two harmony voices independently. Flight and Sting controls sweep, pulse, or detune the harmonized voices. The core fuzz is thick, buzzy, and gated, suppressing background noise when the instrument is not playing. 9V DC center-negative, approximately 7mA. Power supply not included. The Fairfield Circuitry Unpleasant Surprise is a gated fuzz pedal capable of octave fuzz and extreme gated textures. Controls consist of Volume, Onset (a gain and gate-threshold control), and three toggle switches: T (treble cut), G (gain character — open versus compressed), and C (Crush, which engages octave fuzz). The Onset knob controls the onset of fuzz from raunchy gated artifacts at low settings to beautiful sustained distortion at high settings. The C toggle unlocks a lower-octave harmonic character that combines with the gating for abrasive, synth-like fuzz.
