The Beetronics Vezzpa Octave Stinger is a handmade analog octave fuzz from Portland, Oregon combining an op-amp-based high-gain fuzz circuit with a switchable upper octave called Stinger mode. In standard Fuzz mode the pedal produces a dense, wall-of-fuzz character suited for heavy riffs and power chords, with a sustain control that ranges from spitty and poppy at low settings to gated super-high-gain saturation at full. Stinger mode adds an aggressive high octave that cuts through dense mixes with harmonically rich intensity, described by players as harmonics on crack. The Electro-Harmonix Lizard Queen is a collaboration octave fuzz pedal developed between EHX and JHS, delivering a Muff-adjacent fuzz character with a blendable upper-octave harmonic that adds a singing, distinctive overtone layer to sustained notes. Unlike octave fuzzes that switch the octave fully on or off, the Lizard Queen allows continuous blending of the octave harmonic into the fuzz character, enabling subtle octave coloring at low blend settings or a full octave-dominant presence at maximum blend. Premier Guitar reviewed the Lizard Queen as very Muffish with excellent headroom for dynamic playing while still delivering screaming saturation.
