The Beetronics Vezzpa Octave Stinger is a handmade analog octave fuzz from Portland, Oregon combining an op-amp-based high-gain fuzz circuit with a switchable upper octave called Stinger mode. In standard Fuzz mode the pedal produces a dense, wall-of-fuzz character suited for heavy riffs and power chords, with a sustain control that ranges from spitty and poppy at low settings to gated super-high-gain saturation at full. Stinger mode adds an aggressive high octave that cuts through dense mixes with harmonically rich intensity, described by players as harmonics on crack. The Pigtronix Octava is an all-analog octave fuzz and frequency doubler featuring an onboard low-pass Filter control that lets players achieve singing octave-up tones anywhere on the neck without needing to adjust their guitar's tone control. Controls include Volume, Blend (mixing in the octave-up effect), Filter (low-pass cutoff for the octave circuit), Drive (adding warm J-FET preamp overdrive), and Fuzz (activating the fuzz circuit), letting players layer clean octave-up shimmer through to devastating, full-wave-rectified shoegaze fuzz distortion from one pedal.
