The Beetronics Whoctahell V2 Low Octave Beeast is the second-generation WhoctaHell, miniaturized into the Beetronics Babee Series compact format. Retains the core low-octave fuzz synthesis combining one or two octaves below the input note with an overdrive and fuzz layer. The 8-bit synth-style low-octave circuit produces bass-register textures and sub-octave fuzz synthesis. The Babee format enclosure is smaller than the original WhoctaHell, reducing the pedalboard footprint significantly. Handmade in California with Beetronics bee-themed enclosure art and boutique construction. Reviewed by Guitar Pedal X as successfully miniaturizing the WhoctaHell low-octave fuzz synthesis into a more pedalboard-compatible format.
The EarthQuaker Devices Bit Commander is an analog signal processor and octave synth from Akron, Ohio boutique manufacturer EarthQuaker Devices, converting the guitar signal into square waves and generating harmonized sub-octave, octave, and fifth-interval tones through a four-oscillator analog circuit. Controls include Sub, Fundamental, Octave, and Fifth oscillator levels plus Glide (portamento) for synth-style pitch slides. Produces aggressive, buzzing analog synth tones with monophonic tracking.
