Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Description

The Black Arts Toneworks Revelation is a loud, aggressive boost and overdrive designed to magnify and multiply your amp rather than reshape it, using a simple Pre Gain, Gain and Volume layout to slam the front end of an amp with raw frequencies. It has a vintage, mid focused growl that turns fuzzy as gain and volume climb, and it shines pushing an already aggressive amp, distortion or fuzz into thicker, louder saturation. The Dual Revelation Custom pairs Revelation circuits, drawing on the rawer, mid forward SuperLead voice and the rounder, bassier SuperBass voice the line is known for. It suits hard rock, doom, stoner and heavy players who want a brutal, transparent volume and gain boost.

The J. Rockett Animal is a high-gain overdrive pedal from J. Rockett Audio Designs (JRAD) based on the Marshall Shredmaster circuit, one of the most celebrated vintage British high-gain distortion designs from the early 1990s. The Shredmaster circuit was used by Radiohead Thom Yorke and others, and its distinctive mid-forward high-gain character has been influential in alternative and heavy rock. The Animal delivers the Shredmaster-inspired voicing with J. Rockett premium Nashville construction quality.
