Three modes -- Overdrive, Distortion 1, and Distortion 2 -- span tubescreamer-style overdrive through British plexi crunch to high-gain heavy distortion in a single enclosure. A Range control cuts low-end content before the gain stages, enabling tight metal tones or warm vintage saturation. Four controls total: Distortion, Range, Volume, and Tone. Covers classic rock through heavy British distortion without digital processing.
The Orange Getaway Driver is an amp-in-a-box overdrive built around a Class A, single-ended gain structure, voiced as a tribute to the raw sound of 1970s Orange heads and cabs. That topology gives it rich even-order harmonic content and a loose, sagging feel rather than a tight modern response, and the drive grows progressively more amp-like as the gain is cranked -- strong mids and a sweetly compressed treble that flatter humbucker-equipped guitars at full gain. Rolled back to zero gain it works as a clean, largely uncoloured boost. Volume, Gain and Bite controls handle the shaping, an internal switch rolls off content above 20kHz, and a CabSim output makes it usable for headphone practice or direct recording into a computer or PA.
