The Black Country Customs Monolith is a three-mode boutique distortion pedal handmade in the UK by Laney Amplification under its BCC sub-brand. Three modes -- Overdrive, Distortion 1, and Distortion 2 -- span tubescreamer-style overdrive through British plexi crunch to high-gain heavy distortion in a single enclosure. A Range control cuts low-end content before the gain stages, enabling tight metal tones or warm vintage saturation. Four controls total: Distortion, Range, Volume, and Tone. Covers classic rock through heavy British distortion without digital processing.
The Wampler Velvet Fuzz V2 combines a classic fuzz circuit with the character of a cranked EL34-driven British stack, producing a massive, amp-like fuzz voice rather than a purely vintage one. A two-way voicing switch changes its behaviour substantially: the Big setting gives classic fuzz tone with heavy compression across the bottom end and a thick, saturated wall of sustain, while the Tight setting firms everything up so it behaves more like a big, aggressive distortion with clearer note separation. Two distinct clipping options -- rather than the usual silicon-or-germanium choice -- extend the range further. Hand-built in the USA with film capacitors, hand-selected transistors and relay true bypass. Widely rated as one of the more versatile and musical fuzzes available.
