Description

The Blackstar HT Studio 20H is a 20-watt EL34 tube guitar amplifier head with two channels — clean and overdrive — covering the full range from country clean through natural break-up to high-gain saturation. Blackstar's ISF control shifts the tone stack continuously between American and British tonal signatures. The clean channel delivers sparkle and body with solid bass and shimmering top end; the overdrive channel reaches high gain without the detached top-end fizz common in similar designs, and cleans up smoothly from the guitar's volume knob. The head format allows flexible cabinet pairing. At 20 watts it bridges studio and small-stage use.

The Bogner Helios 100-watt head has become a central piece of Steve Lukather's modern touring rig with Toto, replacing the more elaborate, effects-heavy setups he relied on earlier in his career with a simpler approach built around a classic Marshall-style Bogner half-stack paired with his signature Ernie Ball Music Man Luke guitars and a handful of stompboxes. Lukather has toured with three Helios 100 heads and matching 4x12 cabinets since adopting the amp around 2017, having played other Bogner models since 2012, and the amp's British-voiced, Marshall-derived circuit gives him the thick, singing rock and session tone he built his reputation on across decades of Toto records and countless studio sessions.
