Blackstar's ISF control shifts the tone stack continuously between American and British tonal signatures. The clean channel delivers sparkle and body with solid bass and shimmering top end; the overdrive channel reaches high gain without the detached top-end fizz common in similar designs, and cleans up smoothly from the guitar's volume knob. The Ceriatone Son of Yeti is a 20-watt point-to-point hand-wired guitar amplifier head based on a hot-rodded Jose Arredondo-modified Marshall Plexi and JCM800 circuit, covering a full spectrum of vintage to high-gain British tone from a lunchbox-format chassis. An ERA switch selects three distinct voiced modes spanning JTM-clean through modded JCM800 saturation and into extreme gain territory suitable for metal. The 6V6 output section gives the circuit a slightly sweeter and more vintage feel than the traditional EL34-based Plexi it draws from, while the modified preamp delivers gain levels well beyond the original design.
