Capable of subtle slow warble through dramatic helicopter-chop pulsing. Handmade in Morgantown, West Virginia. Suited for vintage country, Americana, blues, surf rock, and clean-toned indie styles where organic amp-style tremolo character is preferred.
The Dawner Prince Starla is a compact, high-fidelity analog tremolo whose depth is set by a genuine light-source-and-photocell optical circuit while speed is governed digitally through a tap tempo microprocessor, letting players choose between a speed knob, a tap tempo footswitch, or an external control voltage or remote tap switch to set the rate. At minimum depth settings it functions purely as a clean signal booster, while increasing depth moves through light shimmer, mild transparent pulsing, and on to deep, machine-gun-like swings, with a dedicated volume control specifically added to prevent the perceived volume drop most tremolo pedals introduce when engaged.
