The Boss FA-1 FET Amp is a vintage 1983 preamp pedal by Roland Japan using FET transistors to simulate the input stage of a valve amplifier. The Dr. Scientist BoostBot is a transparent clean boost pedal made by Canadian boutique manufacturer Dr. Scientist, based in British Columbia. The circuit originates from the clean boost stage of the Dr. Scientist Reverberator pedal, adapted here into a standalone stompbox with up to 20dB of clean boost, a built-in buffer, and an LED level meter for visual monitoring of output level.
