Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Boss FZ-1W is a wholly original Waza Craft fuzz pedal and the first in the Waza Craft range not based on an existing Boss pedal model. Built with an all-analog silicon fuzz circuit in two modes, Vintage and Modern, the FZ-1W covers grinding, growling chord tones, burly buzzing fuzz, and brash to singing high-register lead sounds. Modern mode adds body and midrange presence, producing a result similar to a fuzz equivalent of the Boss SD-1 overdrive. Made in Japan as part of the premium Waza Craft series.

The Carl Martin PlexiRanger combines the PlexiTone Marshall Plexi emulation circuit with a treble booster in the style of the Dallas Rangemaster and John Hornby Skewes treble booster, allowing both effects to be used independently or together. The treble booster adds the bright, singing harmonic character associated with vintage British lead guitar tones. The combination enables classic Clapton, Page, and Hendrix-era treble boost plus Plexi drive tones in a single unit. Made in Denmark by Carl Martin.
