Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Boss Katana 50 MkIII is a 50-watt solid-state modeling combo from Boss Katana third-generation series with a 1x12-inch speaker. Five amp character voicings — Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown, and Acoustic — cover a wide tonal range alongside a comprehensive built-in effects library. A power attenuator switches between 0.5W, 25W, and 50W for practice-to-venue use. USB audio output supports direct recording and Boss Tone Studio enables deep computer-based editing.

The Boss Nextone Stage is a 40-watt guitar amplifier from the Nextone series and the most compact Nextone model. An actual 12AX7 preamp tube combines with digital power amp simulation of four classic power tube types — 6L6, EL34, 6V6, and EL84 — to provide a tube-hybrid response. A power selector switches between 40W, 20W, and 10W output. USB audio output and Boss Tone Studio connectivity support recording and editing. At 40W it is lighter and more portable than the 80W Nextone Artist and Special.
