The BBD circuit produces a distinctive liquid, darkening effect as it modulates pitch, with a harmonic balance that favors soft low-mid tones without muddying the dynamics. Custom mode unlocks Rate and Depth settings beyond the original VB-2 range for more extreme modulation. A highly regarded analog vibrato made in Japan under the Waza Craft premium designation.

The Rainger FX Minibar Liquid Analyser is an unconventional drive/distortion/fuzz pedal whose tonal character changes based on which liquid a player pours into a small plastic container embedded in the chassis. The underlying principle relies on free ion content: water, with many free ions, conducts well and produces low distortion, while alcohol, with very few free ions, creates high distortion, letting players quite literally change their fuzz character by swapping liquids.
