Produces a sparkling clean boost through brightly warm crunch overdrive with a tight low-end response and exceptional dynamic range. A 3-way high-cut toggle shapes the treble response for stacking with other pedals or brighter rigs. Associated with Mayer-esque lead tones and crisp country rhythm playing. The Carbon is described as the most amp-like and organic of the Browne lineup.
The Electro-Harmonix Spruce Goose is a Bluesbreaker-style analog overdrive pedal combining the natural, amp-like breakup of the classic Marshall Bluesbreaker circuit with expanded tone shaping and a three-position LIFT switch that progressively increases input gain from transparent clean boost through mild drive to a singing, saturated lead tone. Controls include Level, Drive, Treble, and an active Bass knob that cuts or boosts low frequencies. The relay true bypass footswitch supports both standard latching and momentary hold-for-boost operation.
