The circuit uses a flattened EQ curve compared to a standard Muff for extra midrange content, with the character closest to the Ram's Head version but with a more focused midrange, less low-end murk, and a sweet clarity in the top end. The Wren and Cuff J Mascis Garbage Face is a part-by-part recreation of Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis's main Big Muff since 1987, a specific 1970s EHX Ram's Head unit rather than a generic Muff clone, developed over more than two years and released in 2021. It extends the original circuit with a footswitchable second master volume and a germanium treble booster stage.
