The Carl Martin Purple Moon is a dual-function vintage effects pedal from Danish manufacturer Carl Martin, combining a silicon fuzz circuit with an analog Uni-Vibe style vibrato in a single enclosure. The fuzz produces thick, crispy vintage silicon saturation with heavy sustain; the Uni-Vibe section delivers slow, swirling phasiness through to fast rotating chop. Both effects can be used independently or together for psychedelic late-1960s tones associated with Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys-era playing and Robin Trower.
The MXR M68 Uni-Vibe Chorus/Vibrato recreates the classic Uni-Vibe's thick, swirling modulation character in a compact, Phase 90-sized enclosure at a fraction of the price of most boutique Uni-Vibe clones. Speed, Level, and Depth controls plus a mini push switch select between Chorus mode, where the pitch-shifted signal blends with the dry guitar tone, and Vibe mode, where the dry signal is removed entirely, leaving only the swirling pitch-shifted tone. It runs true hardwire bypass on 9V battery or adapter power at very low current draw, and includes glow-in-the-dark control markings and LED indicators for dark-stage use.
