The Walrus Audio Emissary is a parallel boost pedal running two differently voiced boost circuits side by side, blended to taste. One is a clean, high-headroom JFET preamp voiced to emphasise the high frequencies for added sparkle, air and cut; the other is a midrange boost for pushing a signal forward in a mix and driving an amp's front end into thicker breakup. A toggle shifts the mid boost's centre frequency between 800Hz and 1kHz, choosing between a fuller, throatier lift and a more nasal, cutting one. The result offers far more voicing control than a conventional one-knob boost while staying easy to dial in. The footswitch is a soft-relay non-latching type, so it also works momentarily to lift a single passage. Runs on 9V DC; Walrus recommends an isolated supply.
