Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Carr Artemus is a 30-watt point-to-point hand-wired EL84-powered guitar combo amplifier made in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, drawing inspiration from the Vox AC30 circuit while adding unique Carr voicing and refinements. True point-to-point construction with no circuit boards of any kind gives it a direct signal path and tactile, organic response. Three EQ controls include an Edge knob that emphasizes high frequencies and a Mid switch that scoops for Fender-influenced tone or sits flat for classic early Vox character. The Artemus rewards volume — its vocal, singing quality and silky smooth overdrive characteristics emerge fully when pushed. Available in 1x12 and 2x12 configurations.

Victory V40 Deluxe is a 42/7-watt combo with 2x12AX7 and 2x12AT7 preamp, 2x6L6 power tubes, 1x12 Celestion G12H-75 Creamback speaker, two voice modes spanning Fender clean to Marshall mid-boost, and valve-driven tremolo and spring reverb.
