The Catalinbread Cloak is a shimmer reverb pedal inspired by a paper from the Stanford University acoustics department that pairs room-style reverb with a shimmer effect for haunting, harmonically rich ambience. The Cloak is fundamentally a room-style reverb that sounds natural on its own, but with a twist of the Shimmer knob, rich harmonically-laden overtones creep in, emphasizing three different orders of harmonics within the reverb trails. Boutique construction in Portland, Oregon.
The DigiTech Polara Reverb is a stereo reverb pedal offering seven reverb algorithms including Hall, Plate, Room, Spring, Reverse, Shimmer (Halo), and TrueSpring using Lexicon reverb technology. Controls include Level, Time, and Tone plus a seven-position algorithm selector. True bypass switching. The Polara uses the same DSP technology as DigiTech's parent company Lexicon, known for professional reverb quality.
