Catalinbread Karma Suture GE vs Spaceman Effects Charon
The Catalinbread Karma Suture GE and the Spaceman Effects Charon are both pedals sharing germanium, saturated, transparent. The Catalinbread Karma Suture GE leans warm.

Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.50% — somewhat different

The Catalinbread Karma Suture GE is a germanium harmonic saturator and fuzz pedal from Portland, Oregon, using germanium transistors to produce rich, warm harmonic distortion and soft clipping character with the organic, dynamic qualities of germanium components. Covers the range from subtle harmonic enrichment through full-on warm, organic fuzz saturation. The GE designation indicates the germanium transistor implementation versus a silicon alternative. Suited for blues, Americana, and vintage-inspired applications where the organic warmth of germanium saturation is the goal. Made in Portland by Catalinbread.
The Spaceman Charon V2 Mod is a genuine circuit revision of the original Charon GE/SI Hybrid Fuzz, transforming what Spaceman describes as a milder fuzzstortion into a more intense, characterful ripper. Modifications give the germanium transistor a more dominant role in the circuit, adding significantly more texture and dynamic interaction to the fuzz, while the LOWS control was adjusted for more pronounced command over the original's low-frequency tone shaping. It also features a newly engraved faceplate design distinguishing it visually from the original and Gold versions.
