Generates a single note octave-up frequency alongside the fundamental fuzz signal, producing the distinctive synth-like, high-harmonic octave shimmer associated with Jimi Hendrix's Octavia use and vintage upper-octave fuzz tone. Most effective on single notes in the upper register of the guitar. Made in Portland by Catalinbread.
The EarthQuaker Devices Bit Commander V2 is the updated version of the Akron, Ohio boutique builder's analog octave synthesizer and ring modulator, refining the original Bit Commander circuit with improved control layout and expanded harmonic synthesis capabilities. Like the original, it generates square-wave sub-octave, octave, and two-octave harmonics from the fundamental guitar signal for aggressive synth-like tones. The V2 updates improve upon the original with refined controls and greater harmonic blending flexibility.
