The Ceriatone Dizzy 30 is a point-to-point hand-wired amplifier based on the Matchless DC30, one of the most influential boutique amplifiers of the 1990s. The DC30 circuit uses EL84 output tubes and takes its starting point from the Vox topology, giving a chiming, harmonically rich clean tone that compresses into a raw, jangly overdrive when pushed. It has two distinct channels with different voicings rather than a shared preamp, which is part of what made the original design unusual. The result is bright, cutting and very responsive to pick attack. The Vox AC15C2 Custom is the twin-twelve version of the AC15, a 15-watt all-valve combo running EL84 output tubes.
