Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.76% — very similar

Citation/mention fame — how often this gear is cited across artist rigs and gear discussion. The Ceriatone Overtone Special is the Malaysian builder Nik Azam Sharif's point-to-point hand-wired take on the Dumble Overdrive Special, and one of the most widely owned routes into D-style tone. The clean channel is full and dimensional without being dark or tubby, and compared with a blackface Fender it has less midrange scoop, a broader bottom end and sweeter highs. Switching to the overdrive channel gives a fat, singing, detailed lead voice with strong harmonic content and long sustain that stays smooth rather than raggedy. It is strongly touch sensitive, so pick attack and guitar volume move it between nearly clean and full saturation. It suits blues, fusion and rock players chasing the tones associated with Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Carlos Santana and John Mayer.
The Ceriatone Overtone Special HRM 100 is the 100-watt version of Ceriatone's hand-wired Dumble Overdrive Special clone built with the His Royal Majesty midrange tone stack. The extra power gives a very large, three-dimensional clean channel that stays articulate and punchy at high stage volume, while the HRM overdrive channel produces a forward, vocal midrange and long, singing sustain with strong harmonic detail. Like the rest of the Overtone Special family it is point-to-point wired and strongly touch sensitive, responding to pick attack and guitar volume the way the original circuit does. Its scale suits players working at band and stage volume, particularly blues, fusion and soul lead work where clean headroom matters as much as the lead voice.
