Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Ceriatone Son of Yeti is a 20-watt point-to-point hand-wired guitar amplifier head based on a hot-rodded Jose Arredondo-modified Marshall Plexi and JCM800 circuit, covering a full spectrum of vintage to high-gain British tone from a lunchbox-format chassis. An ERA switch selects three distinct voiced modes spanning JTM-clean through modded JCM800 saturation and into extreme gain territory suitable for metal. The 6V6 output section gives the circuit a slightly sweeter and more vintage feel than the traditional EL34-based Plexi it draws from, while the modified preamp delivers gain levels well beyond the original design.

The Friedman Runt-20 Combo is a 20-watt all-tube guitar combo from Friedman Amplification, part of the Runt series — a compact 2-channel line offering BE and HBE (Hot Brown Eye) modes at a more accessible price point than the BE-100. At 20W in a self-contained combo format, the Runt-20 delivers Friedman high-gain character at recording and small venue volumes in a practical integrated package.
