Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. CMAT Mods, founded by Chad Matthews and later developed further with pedal builder Greg Blessing, built the Tremoglo as an all-analog tremolo pedal capturing the warm, smooth pulse found in vintage amplifier tremolo circuits, deliberately avoiding the audible clicking or popping some tremolo designs produce when switching on and off. Beyond standard Depth, Speed, and Level controls, a three-way toggle switches an onboard LED on or off to visually flash in time with the tremolo's speed, or moves to a center position that disengages the tremolo modulation entirely and turns the circuit into a clean boost or preamp instead, giving the pedal genuine dual functionality beyond its tremolo effect alone.
The Walrus Audio Monument is a harmonic and standard tap tremolo that produces rich, luscious, warm pulsating modulation with peaks and valleys as smooth or as jagged as desired. Its harmonic mode evokes vintage Fender Brownface amp tremolo, splitting the signal into frequency bands for a phase-like, dimensional throb, while standard mode delivers classic amplitude tremolo. It offers five wave shapes and four tap divisions, with a side jack supporting external tap tempo or expression control over Rate, Depth, Shape, or Tap Multiplier, assignable on the fly. From subtle modulation to extreme, choppy or synth-like textures, it covers a wide range. It suits players wanting versatile, high-quality tremolo, from vintage harmonic warmth to modern rhythmic effects, in a compact, gig-ready pedal that also responds creatively to fuzz and bass.
