Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Crate V18-212 is an 18-watt all-tube combo amplifier from Crate Vintage Club series, featuring two 12-inch speakers. EL84 output tubes deliver warm, compressed vintage British character. Two channels — Clean and Drive — provide clean headroom and natural tube overdrive. The 2x12 cabinet spreads sound widely across a stage or room. Crate Vintage Club amps were widely used as affordable all-tube alternatives for players who wanted genuine valve tone on a budget.

Vox AC50 is a 50-watt tube amplifier producing up to 70 watts flat-out, featuring one ECC82 and three ECC83 preamp tubes with two EL34 power tubes and solid-state rectifier. The amp combines warm, tube-driven clarity with robust low-end, delivering rich, punchy sound with iconic British tone.
