The Electronic Audio Experiments Halberd is a discrete-transistor overdrive originally built around a NOS germanium transistor in a larger BB-size enclosure, later fully redeveloped in the V2 revision. As the original release, it established the Halberd's core transparent-yet-textured overdrive character using Post, Pre, Tone, and Low controls, before EAE shrank the format, replaced the germanium transistor with quieter CMOS-based switching, and added a Voice toggle in the 2021 V2 redesign. Sought after by players specifically wanting the original germanium-based circuit's character.
