The DigiTech DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 is the reissue of the legendary original DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 from 1973, one of the earliest and most historically significant overdrive pedals ever made. The 250 circuit is built around a simple but effective operational amplifier-based clipping design that produces transparent, warm, dynamically responsive overdrive. Directly influenced the MXR Distortion Plus circuit and generations of subsequent overdrive and distortion pedal design. One of the foundational overdrive circuits in electric guitar history. The EarthQuaker Devices x KGR Harmony Cast Iron Plumes is a 100-unit, individually numbered limited edition of the standard Plumes overdrive, distinguished entirely by its hand-cast iron enclosure. The casing was made by Oitomi Ironworks in Iwate, Japan using Nanbu-tekki, a centuries-old Japanese ironworking technique traditionally used for cast-iron teapots, in collaboration with pedal builder Keijiro "KG" Fukushima of KGR Harmony. The underlying circuit, the same all-analog Tube Screamer-style transparent overdrive with a three-way Clipping switch found on the standard Plumes, is unchanged; the edition's value is in its handcrafted enclosure and extreme scarcity.
