It delivers heavy output, a strong midrange and tight, saturated distortion with smooth, singing sustain, making it a favorite bridge pickup for hard rock and metal lead and rhythm. Phil Collen uses it in the bridge of his Jackson PC1. Its hot output drives an amp hard for crunch and lead, with a fat, focused tone that cuts through a mix. It leans modern and aggressive rather than vintage, and is best paired with high-gain amps.
