Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The DOD Chthonic is an analogue fuzz built on a classic single-knob 1970s fuzz circuit, expanded with a separate Fuzz gain control, a Lustre tone control and a global Output level. Its voice is fat, corpulent and sludgy -- an earthy, dark fuzz with a heavy low end rather than a bright, spitting one -- and the Lustre control rolls off high frequencies after the main distortion stages, keeping pick attack intact across its whole range instead of smothering it. It cleans up unusually well from the guitar's volume knob: back to 7 or 8 gives a workable overdrive, and around 5 it returns near-sparkling clean tones. It shares its control layout with the DOD Carcosa but is voiced considerably darker and thicker, suiting doom, stoner and sludge players.

The Fuzzrocious Baby Furnace is a compact fuzz pedal from Mount Laurel, New Jersey-based Fuzzrocious Pedals, featuring a Tone control that sweeps the character from angry, buzzy, tight fuzz toward heavier doom-style saturation with thick cab-like body, and a Blend control for mixing in the clean signal. The clean blend preserves low-end definition and note attack under heavy fuzz saturation, making it practical for both lead and rhythm work where fundamental clarity is needed beneath the fuzz layer. Hand-built by Ryan Ratajski in small batches.
