Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.43% — somewhat different

The DOD YJM308 is a signature preamp overdrive pedal developed with Yngwie Malmsteen, derived from the DOD 250 circuit and named after his favorite Ferrari 308. It uses an analog circuit built around a 4558 op-amp and offers just two controls: Gain and Level. The design produces a mid-focused overdrive that cuts low end while emphasizing upper mids and high-frequency articulation, optimized for lead boost and tone-shaping rather than rhythm saturation. Malmsteen worked directly with DOD engineers to tailor the gain staging and EQ curve to his neoclassical metal technique. The pedal is discontinued and sought after by players replicating his rig.
The NUX Horseman NOD-1 is a Klon Centaur-inspired transparent overdrive offering two selectable voicings from a single pedal: Gold mode emulates the classic, transparent Gold Centaur overdrive character, while Silver mode delivers a powered-up, extended-gain-range Silver Centaur-style voicing. A dual-ganged gain pot controls bass and mid frequencies together, with separate Treble and Volume knobs, and an internal OP-AMP voltage converter drives the circuit at an internal 18V for extra headroom and harmonic richness, with true bypass switching available.
