The Dr. Scientist Frazz Dazzler V2 is the updated version of the original Frazz Dazzler dual-channel fuzz pedal from Canadian boutique manufacturer Dr. Scientist, handmade in British Columbia. The V2 retains the dual-channel architecture, active three-band EQ, voltage starve system, parallel Mix control, and high-gain noise gate of the original while refining the circuit and expanding control options. The expression pedal input allows real-time control of the Mix parameter, enabling dynamic fuzz depth adjustment. The V2 builds on the proven platform of the original and is the current production version of the Frazz Dazzler, suited for guitar, bass, and synthesizer.
The ZVEX Fuzz Probe is the Fuzz Factory circuit fitted with a theremin-style copper antenna plate, letting the player sweep one of its controls hands-free by moving a foot across the pedal's surface. The underlying Fuzz Factory is a germanium fuzz famed for being unstable by design: alongside conventional Volume and Drive it carries Gate, Comp and Stab controls that set the noise gate, starve the circuit's compression and destabilise the bias, producing everything from thick vintage sustain to gated, sputtering, dying-battery splatter and self-oscillating squeals and whistles. The Probe maps that behaviour to the proximity sensor, so oscillation pitch and fuzz character can be bent and swooped in real time. Wildly interactive and unpredictable, it suits experimental and noise players rather than anyone wanting a polite, repeatable fuzz. Hand-painted, from ZVEX of Minneapolis.
