The MXR EG74 Raw Dawg is Eric Gales' signature overdrive, a mini pedal with Output, Tone and Drive controls based on a classic, tried and true overdrive circuit custom voiced for him. Compared with a standard Tube Screamer, it balances out the midrange hump, increases the gain and adds more low end for a sweeter, harmonically richer and more natural sound even when cranked. It delivers grit and crunch with greater texture and body than a typical TS style drive. It suits blues, rock and lead players who want a more open, full bodied take on the classic green overdrive, with extra gain on tap for expressive, singing solos.

The Tone City Green Tube is a Tube Screamer-style overdrive that makes no secret of its inspiration in name, colour or voicing, and unusually for Tone City it comes in a full-size rather than mini enclosure. It delivers the familiar mid-gain, midrange-focused overdrive: warm and smooth with a pushed midrange hump that helps leads cut, and enough compression to even out pick attack. Controls are simple -- Volume, a Tone dial adding treble as it opens, and Drive for gain -- while a dual-drive feature widens the range, so it works both as a light, gritty edge-of-breakup boost and as a fuller driven rhythm tone. It pairs well with single coils and humbuckers alike, adding heat and attack to an already-driven amp. True bypass, 9V.
