Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. The Dunlop JH-3S is the Jimi Hendrix Octave pedal component from the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hendrix signature series, modeled on the Roger Mayer Octavia octave fuzz used by Hendrix to create the singing upper-octave lead tones heard on recordings including Purple Haze and One Rainy Wish. The JH-3S replicates the Octavia circuit that adds a strong upper-octave harmonic to the fuzz signal, producing the distinctive singing overtone effect most audible on single-note lines in the upper neck register. The pedal is part of Dunlop ongoing commitment to recreating Hendrix-approved signal chain effects.
The Keeley Octa Psi is an octave fuzz pedal from Keeley Electronics delivering upper and lower octave fuzz saturation with a psychedelic, synth-like character suited to experimental and psychedelic rock. The circuit produces harmonically layered saturation with octave overtones that add otherworldly quality to guitar tones. Used for experimental, psych rock, and progressive guitar applications.
