Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. The MXR Zakk Wylde Overdrive WA44 is a signature overdrive pedal developed in collaboration with Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society and former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist, voiced to replicate the driven tone Wylde produces from his overdriven Marshall amplifiers. The WA44 delivers a high-gain, aggressive overdrive character suited to hard rock and heavy metal playing in the style associated with Wylde, known for massive sustained lead tones and crushing rhythm guitar. The pedal targets players who want an authentic Zakk Wylde reference tone in a compact, stage-ready format.
The Fortin Amplification Meshuggah is a gain boost and saturation switch pedal created in collaboration with Swedish progressive metal band Meshuggah, designed to deliver the precise, brutally tight high-gain tone associated with the Meshuggah sound. The Meshuggah boost provides the tight, defined gain enhancement needed for the band seven and eight-string drop-tuned rhythm playing that defines their sound, with a saturation switch that adds an additional layer of high-gain density when engaged. It is one of the most influential metal-focused boutique pedals from Fortin Amplification.
