Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The EarthQuaker Devices Avalanche Run is a dreamy stereo delay and reverb multi-tool offering up to two seconds of delay, reverse delay, tap tempo with subdivision control, switchable true or buffered bypass with several tail lengths including a sound-on-sound lo-fi looping mode, and assignable expression control. It sounds hauntingly cavernous yet precise, lending fingerpicked figures articulation while bathing them in lush ambience. The delay sweeps from tape emulation to bucket-brigade styles via a wide-range Tone control, and the cavernous plate-style reverb has a touch of modulation and adjustable decay. Its repeats and reverb color the signal very little, leaving room for the guitar and amp, with analog-style haze available when digital sharpness is too much. Short repeat times give metallic, ring-modulated tones, while long repeats and mix with aggressive reverb create ambient and shoegaze dreamscapes, making it a favorite all-in-one for atmospheric players.

The Hungry Robot The Moby Dick is the original version of the Hungry Robot Moby Dick reverb, delivering lush ambient reverb with extended decay and modulation for massive, deep reverb tails. Texas boutique construction from Hungry Robot with the same deep ambient reverb concept as the V2.
