Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Description

The Fulltone Custom Shop OCD Gold Standard LTD is a limited-edition Custom Shop variant of Fulltone's celebrated OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Drive) overdrive/distortion pedal, built around the same MOSFET-based gain stage and dual-clipping-mode design that made the OCD a staple on countless pedalboards. It offers the OCD's signature amp-like, dynamically responsive drive spanning crunchy overdrive to more aggressive distortion, now in a distinctive Gold Standard limited-run finish for collectors.

The Fender Pugilist Distortion is a MOSFET distortion pedal from Fender featuring a blend control that mixes the dry clean guitar signal with the distorted signal for a layered, articulate distortion character that retains note clarity under heavy drive. The MOSFET clipping stage produces a dynamic, harmonically rich distortion that cleans up well with guitar volume, and the clean blend control allows the fundamental note attack to cut through the distortion for a more defined sound under extreme gain. Guitar World noted the Pugilist as having a tactile, full-bodied feel with excellent note clarity.
