Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The EarthQuaker Devices Hummingbird V2 carries the same choppy, sawtooth Repeat-Percussion-style tremolo circuit as the original Hummingbird, offering two speed settings for shaping how the chop responds. Like the original, it spans from classic 1950s-style shimmering tremolo to a more synthy, delay-like chop character. V2 uses side-mounted jacks, a layout later revised in V3 to top-mounted jacks for better pedalboard compatibility, but the underlying tremolo voicing remains the vintage-modeled circuit that defines the whole Hummingbird lineage.

The JHS Boss TR-2 Tremolo is a JHS Pedals-modified version of the Boss TR-2 tremolo, where JHS adds enhancements including additional control, waveform options, or circuit improvements to the standard Boss TR-2. JHS offers modified Boss pedals with expanded functionality beyond the original Boss design at JHS Pedals Kansas City quality.
