citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Description

The EarthQuaker Devices Hummingbird is a choppy, sawtooth tremolo modeled on the vintage Repeat Percussion circuit found in old Valco and Vox amplifiers, capable of everything from classic shimmering 1950s-style tremolo to a synthy, delay-like chop. As the original version in the Hummingbird lineage, it established the core circuit later refined by V2 and V3 with additional speed settings and jack placement changes, while retaining the same fundamentally choppy, percussive tremolo character that defines the whole series.

The EarthQuaker Devices Hummingbird V2 carries the same choppy, sawtooth Repeat-Percussion-style tremolo circuit as the original Hummingbird, offering two speed settings for shaping how the chop responds. Like the original, it spans from classic 1950s-style shimmering tremolo to a more synthy, delay-like chop character. V2 uses side-mounted jacks, a layout later revised in V3 to top-mounted jacks for better pedalboard compatibility, but the underlying tremolo voicing remains the vintage-modeled circuit that defines the whole Hummingbird lineage.
