The Electro-Harmonix Nano Operation Overlord is a nano sized version of the Operation Overlord allied overdrive, delivering the same amp like overdrive and distortion tones in mono. It uses three amp style JFET gain stages and switches between Normal mode, for low to medium gain amp like drive, and Boost mode, which adds a pedal type overdrive circuit in front of the JFET stages for much higher gain and saturation. A dry blend control, invaluable for bass and keys, a three position input level switch and an active three band EQ make it highly flexible. It suits rock, hard rock and metal players who want versatile, amp like overdrive into full distortion with strong EQ control in a compact pedal.
The Suhr Rufus Reloaded is a versatile fuzz that behaves as much like an overdrive or distortion as a traditional fuzz, staying clean and transparent where most fuzzes turn harsh at high gain. The fuzz control sweeps a wide tonal range, from historic late-1960s fuzz voices through to the thicker, more aggressive grunge-era sounds. A full three-band EQ shapes the output without compromising the underlying guitar and amp tone, which is unusual for the format. The Reloaded edition adds an extremely dynamic and tactile octave-up mode, selected on the fly by holding the multi-function footswitch to switch between Normal and Octave voices mid-performance. Works on guitar or bass, and is considerably more versatile than a typical fuzz.
